For this first episode of Storied: San Francisco, it made sense on so many levels to start with Robvell Smith. Robvell tends bar at Tony's Pizza Napoletana in North Beach, which is where our paths first crossed six or so years ago. We'll hear Robvell retell the story of how he got started behind the bar, some of his first bartending gigs (in SF, SoCal, and Hawaii), and his deep appreciation of and love for serving people at the bar. This episode also has a brief introduction to Storied: San Francisco. In a way, this is the story behind the stories of Storied: San Francisco. I hope you enjoy. Please remember to rate and review Storied: San Francisco on iTunes so we can try to get more listeners. And be sure to follow us on Twitter and Instagram @storiedsf. Thanks for listening. Next week's episode of Storied: San Francisco will treat you to one San Franciscan's experience in the 1989 earthquake. We recorded this podcast at Vesuvio Café in August 2017.

I am looking forward to more stories. Really enjoyed the first one but found it had a sound problem. And background noise to loud. Bartender was not close enough to the microphone. Can I find this on iTunes so I can subscribe? Loved the idea of photos too. Nice to put a face on who I am listening to.

Hi Kathy, thanks for the listening and commenting. Yes, I heard that Robvell's voice was quiet in some parts of the recording, and I did my best to compensate for that when I edited the podcast. I'm still new at podcast editing, and hope that future episodes will sound better.

I really liked hearing Robvell's perspective on SF and on bartending! Nice choice for your inaugural episode. I think it captured a very SF character.
