Morgan Shidler grew up in Rohnert Park and moved to San Francisco in 2003, right around the time of the Iraq War. In Part 1 of her episode of Storied: San Francisco, Morgan talks about going to a protest of that war, and how it changed her life. After that, Morgan tells a ghost story she shared that was just too good to leave out.
Shortly after the 2016 election, Morgan got together with friend and former coworker Harmony Fraga, who owns The Social Study. Out of their conversation that night, That's What She Said, an all-women's monthly speaking event, was born.
In Part 2 of her Storied: San Francisco podcast, Morgan talks about starting That's What She Said and the importance of having a space where women feel safe sharing stories about themselves and their experiences navigating a largely sexist society. The next event will be next Monday, January 8, at 7 p.m. at The Social Study. The guest speaker that night will be Sarah McLeod (see flier in slideshow, above). This podcast was recorded at The Social Study in December 2017.
